- Agreed. Terribly sad. But if it happened in my family, we probably couldn't resist some of the puns ourselves. Human nature to try to relieve the tension of such a horrible situation. And refraining from the sick humor wouldn't bring back the dead.

- We'd still act like idiots. There's a big difference between intellectual knowledge and behavior. Otherwise Jenny Craig would be out of business, gyms would be packed and nobody would be in debt.

- Based on reports from witnesses at the restaurant they were are earlier that night, I don't think he "got her" drunk. I'm believe she managed that on her own. And if she was drunk, her fear of water might have gone by the wayside. But she was obviously in some kind of distress.
